Aaron Boyd Evans

Dr. Aaron Boyd Evans is a Canadian born marine taxonomist.  He graduated from the University of Victoria (British Columbia) in 2010, then went on to complete a MSc (2013) and PhD (2018) at the Auckland University of Technology under the supervision of Dr. Kathrin Bolstad.  Dr. Evans is a founding member of ALCES (AUT's Lab for Cephalopod Ecology and Systematics) and continues to contribute to cephalopod knowledge as Image Librarian here on CephRef, as a contributor/moderator for TONMO (The Octopus News Magazine Online), and as a regular co-host on the Octopodcast (by TONMO).

His research focuses on members of the squid family Cranchiidae (commonly known as the 'glass squid') and has invovled examining morphological, systematic, developmental, and molecular areas of deep-sea biology.
