Austin Horenkamp

Austin Horenkamp is a PhD student at the Auckland University of Technology, with the AUT Lab of Cephalopod Ecology And Systematics. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 2013, then went on to complete a MsC at Southern Illinois University ujnder Dr. Frank E. Anderson studying freshwater annelid taxonomy. He is the founder of the Cephalopod Research Network Discord, which is built around ease of access and collaboration with fellow cephalopod researchers.

His research currently revolves around the family Brachioteuthidae "arm squids" focusing on the morphological and genetic aspects of their deep-sea biology and taxonomy.
